Café / Restaurant, Daylesford spa region
The Glenlyon Store is a heritage-listed building situated on the corner of Barkly Street and Ford Street in the hamlet of Glenlyon. Built in the 1860’s, the store has worn many different hats over its long history from hotel to butcher shop, brothel to general store. Today the store is a cafe, bar and providore, serving locals from Glenlyon and surrounding villages as well as tourists and visitors to the district.
The store offers a breakfast and lunch menu from Wednesday to Sunday and dinner and drinks every Friday night. There’s an expansive courtyard garden for outdoor dining which is in use from spring through to late autumn wether permitting.
On the store shelves you’ll find an array of retail products from local to imported… cheeses, pickles and preserves sit alongside some essentials like wine, sourdough bread, local milk, beer, eggs and gin. Whatever you may be looking for there is a good chance you’ll find it at the store.
The General Store has a no smoking policy including all outdoor areas.
