Glenlyon General Store

About

We are proud to acknowledge the Dja Dja Wurrung people as the traditional land owners and First Nations of this unique country.

The Loddon River passes through Glenlyon and holds a place of significant cultural heritage to the Aboriginal people past and present. It was also one of the first things to attract European and Asian settlers to the district in the 1850’s not only for practical reasons of day to day living but also with the promise of gold.

Our general store has a strong identity in this history and hints of its past can be found in the photographs hanging on the walls and in the very walls themselves…

With this in mind, we see ourselves as caretakers and custodians, the latest in a long and colourful history, writing our chapter in the book that is the Glenlyon Store.
